Send app messages with Firebase or OneSignal, target the right users, and bring people back to the right screen, product, page, or offer.
Push notifications help you reach app users even when they are not actively using your app. They are useful for announcements, offers, reminders, product updates, order updates, content alerts, and any message that should bring users back into the app.
For many businesses, push notifications are one of the biggest reasons to have a mobile app. Instead of waiting for users to check email, visit your website, or see a social post, you can send a direct message to the device where your app is installed.
AppMySite supports push notifications through Firebase and OneSignal. Firebase is available as the basic notification option, while OneSignal powers advanced notifications with more targeting and reporting options.
You can enable push notifications from your app settings and choose the notification setup that fits your app. Once the required setup is complete and included in your app build, you can create and send push notifications from your AppMySite account.
Each notification can include a title, message, image, and link. The link can open a relevant destination inside your app, so users land on the right screen instead of only opening the app homepage.
You can send notifications to all users or target selected audiences based on the options available in your notification setup. This can include device type, location, country, language, app version, user activity, or custom user groups where supported.
After a notification is sent, you can review how it performed. Reporting can include subscriber insights, delivery data, clicks, click-through rate, influenced opens, platform-level activity, and location-based views where available.
Firebase is the basic push notification option in AppMySite. It lets you connect Google Firebase to your app and send notifications from your AppMySite account.
You can configure Firebase separately for Android and iOS by adding the required Firebase and app-store credentials inside your app settings. For Android, this can include your Firebase configuration file, service account file, and related app identifiers. For iOS, the setup depends on your publishing environment and may require Firebase files, Apple push notification credentials, certificates, provisioning details, or App Store Connect information.
Once Firebase is configured and your app build includes the required setup, you can send push notifications with a title, message, image, and link. You can also open Firebase reporting from your account to review notification performance and related analytics where available.
OneSignal powers advanced push notifications in AppMySite. It gives you more control over who receives your notifications, how messages are targeted, and how performance is tracked after a notification is sent.
By default, AppMySite handles the OneSignal setup behind the scenes, so you can configure and send advanced push notifications from your AppMySite account. If you already have your own OneSignal account, you can connect it by adding your OneSignal organization ID and organization API key inside your notification settings.
With OneSignal, you can send notifications to all users or selected user groups. You can create targeting groups based on user activity, app version, language, location, country, and other available conditions. You can also review delivery, clicks, click-through rate, influenced opens, platform-level activity, and subscribed user data.
